Why should I book with Carpe Diem films?
We not only offer a friendly service, we put the customer first and produce quality, authentic memories. We would never just take your deposit, cease all communication and then turn up on the day as with most services. We give you the opportunity to discuss, reflect and follow up any ideas, key shots you want and anything else you desire for your day during our meetings. As this is your day, we believe it is important to get to know at least basic things about you and your family, ensuring we get everyone important into the final product, and where applicable, leave certain members out. For example; divorced parents need to keep apart? We can ensure they’re not in the same shot. After briefly getting to know each other at the time of booking, then following up at the consultation just before your big day, we will agree on your focal parts of the day and how you want things done so we can capture your day without getting in the way. We are always an email away if you would like to contact us with any further enquiries or request additional meetings - where possible, we aim to get back to you on the same day.
How do I book you for our wedding?
Contact us via email or phone and we can arrange a meeting to discuss your requirements. From this we will draw up a contract and a partial, non-refundable initial payment is to be made to secure your date. We then require the remaining balance no later than one calendar month before the wedding date.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in the Midlands and will travel anywhere in the UK or abroad. Depending on the location, travel expenses may need to be added to the total cost of your package.
How long can I expect to wait for my video?
We never fill our calendar up and therefore would never end up in a position where you are waiting months on end for the final product. Editing is a huge part of the video production, so we ensure we have the time needed to give you a high quality video soon after your big day. We aim to get your video to you within a month if it is a full wedding package, or 5 business days if a promotional video. More often than not, we finish them early.
What can you expect on the day?
A warm welcoming service to help put you at ease while you are preparing for the ceremony. A discreet out of the way filming presence throughout the day, and an open mind to any creative ideas that you may wish to make.
Why are wedding videos priced the way they are?
Weddings are priced the way they are as they require refined skills to ensure we capture everything – we don’t get a take two! We know how sad it is if a moment is missed so you pay for us to catch precious moments that you may miss on the day yourselves – often these are the emotional parts that we watch over and over again. This, paired with “wedding season” mainly covering summer months and typically over weekends, cost of time is generally higher. Equipment is also a big factor in videography – the wrong camera can cost you those precious memories we talk about so often. We invest in high end equipment so that your video is crystal clear, using the best technology to edit and preserve your day. Regardless, it is a great investment. Our brains can’t retain memories well over time and we cannot project our memories for others to share after the day. These videos make your day everlasting and can be watched by many generations over time.
Do you do bespoke packages?
Absolutely, we would love to hear your ideas!
Will you keep a backup of all the footage?
We keep all of the footage for 12 months. After this we free up space to allow for the following years weddings.
Can I keep all of the raw footage?
We can hand this to you at an additional cost as it is costly to send raw 4K files across. That being said you need to understand it is raw footage, so it won't look as good as the final product due to us removing imperfections during the editing process.
